Probate & Estate Administration

After a loved one has passed away, Gant can assist the remaining family members with the administration of that individual’s estate (known as the “probate” process). This process involves gathering all the assets of the estate, paying the decedent’s creditors and taxes, and distributing the remaining balance of the estate. Gant will guide the Personal Representative appointed by the court (known as the “Executor” in other states) through all the required steps of the probate process.

In the event that the decedent utilized a fully funded revocable trust in order to avoid probate, Gant will assist the Trustee throughout the trust administration process. Finally, Gant can assist with non-probate transfers, including assets that pass via beneficiary designation, such as life insurance and retirement accounts, and those that pass as a matter of law from joint accounts.
