Kirk-Pinkerton, P.A., which has been serving the Sarasota community with distinction since 1926.
Gant is a Board Certified Specialist in estate planning. Estate planning is the process of planning for the disposition of your assets upon death, including the minimization of taxes, and should also include planning for your potential incapacity. No matter what your net worth, it is important to have an estate plan in place to be certain that your family is provided for in the event of your death or incapacity.
All estate plans should include a Will, Durable Power of Attorney, and Health Care Advance Directive. The latter two documents allow someone you appoint to make financial and medical decisions for you in the event that you are unable to make those decisions for yourself. Some people also wish to create Living Wills, which state their wishes regarding life-sustaining medical treatments during end-of-life situations.
Gant can also help you determine if the use of one or more of the following trusts would make sense for you:
- Revocable Trust (also known as a “Living Trust”)
- Trust for Pets
- Qualified Personal Residence Trust (QPRT)
- Grantor Retained Annuity Trust (GRAT)
- Intentionally Defective Grantor Trust (IDGT)
- Qualified Terminable Interest Property Trust (QTIP)
- Irrevocable Life Insurance Trust (ILIT)
